You may know exactly what type of hat you’re after. Or maybe you could use some expert guidance on which hat shapes best suit your features and personal style? Either way our Custom Hat option has you covered!

About half of Recapitate’s custom orders are designed remotely via email. It’s actually a simple process. Most people will make reference to hats from our STYLE OPTIONS library. Some will send pics of various looks they admire. Photos of you (without a hat on) are also encouraged. Get the conversation started by sending a message !

Premium 100% pure rabbit fur felt. Practically any hat style you can imagine!!! Shipping and hat box included (US/Canada).

Together we'll determine:

CROWN SHAPE: Choose from over 150 hat shapes from the STYLE OPTIONS tab or provide a reference photo of what you're after.

CROWN HEIGHT: Be as specific as you'd like when requesting the final height of your hat as measured upward from the brim. The perceived height of your hat has a lot to do with it's height at the front of the crown.

BRIM LENGTH: As a general reference, many of our styles sport a 3 1/2" brim. Go as short as you like! Of course there are limits on how wide we can go, but many times a very wide 5" brim is attainable.

BRIM SHAPE: Completely flat? Down in front? Full western taco? Cupped all the way around? Pencil curled edge? ...You name it!

COLOR: Choose your felt color from the chart below or ask about the large number of other options.

STIFFNESS: Specify felt stiffness. Our hats are generally structurally sturdy like a cowboy hat unless you request otherwise

FINISH: Choose a special finish (aged/distressed, super smooth, cracked leather look, "clean", etc)

SIZE: Get as specific as you’d like! Add a decimal point to get the size just right. (example: 58.6cm rather than 59cm). See Size chart for more information. You can find tips for measuring your head here.

HEAD SHAPE: I'll help you determine whether your head is narrow, regular, or wide oval so the hat will not only be the right size but also the right shape for your head.

HAT BAND: Choose from countless hat band materials. Feel free to refer to the hats under the Style Options tab or request something else and I'll show you some options.

GUIDANCE: Style advice based on your face structure, eye color, general silluette, and personal style

SWEATBAND: Supple black goat leather is comfortable, beatiful, and long lasting.
