This very special hat style is actually buried in the Mojave desert for days. It’s felt is slathered with oil and burned to create this golden finish (and to repel rain). Buried, pounced, torched this hard earned patina takes a good while to develop (6-7 weeks once your order has been placed).

Each hat is worked by hand to transform it into something truly unique and aesthetically satisfying- no two will be identical. Recapitate hats are handcrafted in the Mojave Desert. Each carefully built for you by musician/hatter Todd Fink (The Faint).

Size: All sizes ship in 6-7 weeks (3-4 weeks for just about any other style)

Color: Bone (originally)

Crown height: Medium tall. A bit asymmetric pinch and tip indention. (requests are accepted)

Brim: 3 1/2”

Felt: Fine 100% western-weight furfelt.

Sweatband: Premium black goat leather

Hat band: Light gray leather or other by request. This style also looks great without a hat band.
